Vertical marathons

That’s Zakayo and Ariko (more on him in a later blog entry) chilling at the top of the Swissotel. Well, it’s the closest we can get to climbing a mountain on a bike. So, we’re making a slight detour and climbing buildings instead. Zakayo won by half a minute, and in record time! Ariko was third.

The winner gets to go to New York for the Empire State Building run-up. It’s an invitation-only race, so this is a race he had to win.

Hopefully, the Swissotel will help us with the visa application. Zakayo’s going to win in New York in February. Then we’ll see if we can line up some bike races while we’re there. We’re looking at the race up Mount Washington and Mount Evans because these are done by top US pros who go on to the Tour de France.
Victory!
